Triumph Factory Racing Complete Sophomore Supercross Season

Supermotocross race round 17
Racing Triumph Motorcycles 12th May 2025

Triumph Factory Racing wrapped up its second season in AMA Supercross at the Salt Lake City finale, where both Austin Forkner and Jordon Smith encountered challenges in the demanding 250SX East/West Showdown.

Austin Forkner maintained his strong form, advancing directly to the main event with a solid fifth-place finish in his heat race. Aboard the TF 250-X, he launched to a stellar start in one of the most competitive 250SX fields of the year and rounded the first lap just outside the top five. Forkner showed early promise and pace but was ultimately sidelined by an untimely issue that forced an early retirement. Ultimately, Forkner was classified 11th in the final 250SX East championship standings.

Jordon Smith withdrew from the race programme after a hard crash in qualification left him battered and bruised. Crucially he is uninjured, so the wise decision to rest and focus on round one of 2025 Pro Motocross was made. With two supercross events missed in 2025, he was ranked in eighth in the 250SX West championship.

One chapter closes and another immediately opens: 2025 Pro Motocross will now become the sole focus for the Triumph Factory Racing team. The first round, run at Fox Raceway in Southern California, will be held on May 24.

Austin Forkner

"I am stoked to finish the season with a positive day. I rode well. I was fifth in the heat, which was with all of the 250SX East riders, then I had a solid start in the main. I was riding well and in the battle. I had a little issue that ended my race, but we have made massive improvements over the last month and I am so excited to carry that momentum into the future."

Jordon Smith

"A bummer way to end the supercross season! I felt really good in practice and put a lot of laps together. We have made some positive bike changes in recent weeks and I feel that we really had it in a good spot. It was an unfortunate situation, but I am pleased that we are all somewhat healthy and walking away. I tried to race, but I was just too sore and the main focus is the 2025 Pro Motocross season. We will head back to the Triumph Factory Racing facility and be ready for round one."

Jeremy Coker – General Manager, Triumph Racing America

"Unfortunately, we had a rough final race of the supercross season. Both riders started on a good track and then Jordon had a big crash that was out of his control; he tried everything he could to race but was too sore. Austin had a much better day and his race was going great, but we had a bike issue. The team and factory will work to fix the problem and not allow it to happen again. I am very happy with the team, they work their butts off and it showed in our success this year."
