Second Overall for Camden Mclellan at Mxgp of Flanders!
Racing Triumph Motorcycles 4th Aug 2025

Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has charged to second overall at round 15 of the MX2 World Championship in Lommel, Belgium. The talented, TF 250-X racer was in impressive form all weekend long, securing third in the qualifying race, then finishing second and third in the Grand Prix races. Guillem Farres was also in action, with the Spaniard placing ninth overall.

With proven sand-riding skills, McLellan was in his element all weekend long in Lommel. Known for its relentless, rough surface, the circuit favours the fittest riders, and Camden certainly underlined both his stamina and speed at the infamous venue.

From starting third in the opening moto, Camden moved up to second on lap three when Sacha Coenen fell. By this time, race leader Kay de Wolf had opened up a sizable margin at the front, as had McLellan over the chasing field, which allowed the 21-year-old to ride an untroubled race to the finish.

Moto two was a lot more eventful for McLellan. After completing the opening lap in eighth, he was soon into seventh before he passed three riders on lap four to move into fourth. As the race neared its conclusion, Camden passed series leader Simon Laengenfelder for third, and despite his best efforts, he was unable to reel in the leading riders. In finishing third, McLellan finished as the overall runner-up to match his season best result. With five rounds remaining, the South African now sits sixth in the series standings.

Following a costly fall in the qualifying race on Saturday, Farres had to line up on the outside gate for both races in Lommel. Undeterred by the challenge, Guillem fought hard for every position to ultimately secure his 14-10 race results and ninth overall on the day.

Monster Energy Triumph will now enjoy a weekend off before returning to racing action. Round 16 of the series takes place in Uddevalla, Sweden, over the weekend of August 16-17

Camden McLellan

“It’s awesome to be back on the podium for myself and the team. It’s been a long time coming and overall, it’s been a great weekend. My qualifying race was good, and then today, it was all about fitness really because the track was so tough. I had a good start in race one and came home in second, so that was good, and then my start in the second moto wasn’t ideal. I had to work for it, but got up to third by the end, so I can be happy with that result. It’s been a great day and I can’t thank the team enough.”

Guillem Farres

“It’s been a tough weekend. I had a big crash in the qualifying race and that meant I had last gate pick for the Grand Prix races. In the first moto, I got caught up behind someone who crashed, and then I fell again later in the race. Race two was a lot better. With starting outside I had to fight for every position and worked my way up to 10th. So that was not too bad and I ended up ninth overall. We’ll keep working and be ready for Sweden in two weeks.”

Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager

“To be back on the podium with Camden is amazing. After practice on Saturday, the team made a few changes to Camden’s bike to make him more comfortable, and from the qualifying race onwards you can see that those changes really paid off. It’s a really tough track here in Lommel, and if the bike isn’t set up perfectly, then it makes the races even harder for the rider. It’s also hard on the bikes with the sand being so deep, but both bikes were faultless all weekend. Camden was obviously very impressive today, but Guillem rode very well from the back of the pack in both races for ninth overall. Now, it’s back to the hardpack in Sweden, then more sand one week later in the Netherlands.”
