Strong results for Camden Mclellan and Guillem Farres at MXGP of Latvia
Racing Triumph Motorcycles 9th Jun 2025

Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has placed sixth overall at the MXGP of Latvia, with Guillem Farres close behind in eighth. Competing at the popular sand track of Kegums for the 11th round of the MX2 World Championship, the duo showed impressive speed all weekend to secure their respective results.

As the series enters its second half, McLellan and Farres continue to deliver strong performances. The trip to Latvia proved no different, and after a challenging qualifying race, they lined up for race one of the Grand Prix motivated to impress.

With rain falling overnight, conditions were certainly tough for the opening moto. From starting just outside the top 10, McLellan was on the charge throughout race one and made a last-lap pass on Karlis Reisulis to secure fifth. The South African, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday, took advantage of a much better start in the second moto, but with the rain making the circuit difficult to pass on, he could only reach seventh at the finish. The points secured placed Camden sixth overall, and he remains seventh in the series standings.

One week on from claiming a maiden race win and overall podium result in the MX2 World Championship, Farres was excited for a repeat success in Latvia. Frustratingly, starting outside the top 10 in both races gave him a lot of work to do, with the Spaniard ultimately delivering results of ninth and sixth across the two races. Guillem now sits 12th in the championship despite missing three rounds.

Round 12 of the MX2 World Championship will be the MXGP of Great Britain on June 21-22. With the event being a home race for Triumph, the Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing team will be eager to deliver strong results aboard their TF 250-X machines.

Camden McLellan

“The MXGP of Latvia wasn’t too bad for me. I had the pace on Saturday, but in the qualifying race I fell and damaged my front brake. Then for today, after the rain, it made the track tough. The track crew did a good job, but starts were so important. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the best of starts in either race, but I climbed my way up to fifth in the first moto then seventh in race two. Not the best day but not the worst, and now it’s on to England in two weeks.”

Guillem Farres

“That’s the weekend in Latvia done. During Saturday we made a few small adjustments to the bike and they worked really well. Then into Sunday we had a lot of rain, and that made the track really one-lined for race one. I was stuck behind other riders for a while but finally made a few passes for ninth. My start in the second moto was really good, but I got pushed wide in the first turn. I then settled into fifth for the whole race until I was passed on the last lap. That was frustrating, and overall, I know I can be better, so we’ll keep working.”

Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager

“Round 11 in Latvia has been challenging. The track changed each time Camden and Guillem were out there, so this made bike set-up tricky. But the team was able to get both riders comfortable and it was unfortunate that they both crashed in the qualifying moto. After the rain overnight on Sunday, the track was really difficult, but both riders fought hard in each race. We’ll keep working and fine-tuning things, and head to the next round focused on the podium.”
