Farres Takes Maiden Race Win and Finishes Second Overall in Germany

Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Guillem Farres has placed a career-best second overall at the MXGP of Germany. After racing to ninth in moto one, the Spanish star claimed a maiden victory in race two to secure his place on the overall podium. Camden McLellan also delivered a strong result, finishing seventh.
The MXGP of Germany, held at the hardpack circuit of Teutschenthal, hosted round 10 of the 2025 MX2 World Championship. In Saturday’s qualifying race, Farres finished ninth with McLellan 10th, which gave them solid gate picks for Sunday’s Grand Prix races.
Guillem took full advantage of his gate pick and ran fourth for much of the opening race. After slipping to fifth, he crashed on the penultimate lap, dropping to ninth. Farres then held off Oriol Oliver to secure a solid top-10 finish.
Farres was much more impressive in race two. As rain had fallen after the first race, a strong start was essential, and Guillem rounded the first turn in second. Farres then shadowed early race leader Sacha Coenen, but when his rival fell, he moved into the lead. From there, with a comfortable gap behind him, the 22-year-old charged to victory aboard his TF 250-X to secure his place on the second step of the podium. The solid points haul moves Guillem up to 12th from 15th in the championship.
The 10th round of the season was largely positive for McLellan. With the points from his eighth-place finish in race one and sixth in moto two combined, he secured seventh overall. Heading into the second half of the campaign, the South African remains seventh in the series standings.
Next weekend, Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing travel to the MXGP of Latvia, which takes place at the sandy circuit of Kegums for the 11th round of the championship.
Guillem Farres
“To get a race win and second overall is amazing! Coming into today, we made some small changes to the bike and they made a really big difference. My first race wasn’t so good as I made a mistake while sixth and I dropped to ninth. But the second race went almost perfectly. I started second, the leader crashed, and I controlled the race to the finish. The goal now is to keep the ball rolling and be up front all the time. Thanks to the team again for doing such a great job with the bike.”
Camden McLellan
“Some positives but also negatives this weekend. I need to be better on Saturday so that I qualify better for the GP races, and then I can get better starts. We’re back on the sand next weekend, so I’m excited for that. With a good week of training, the goal is to be running up front again, where I should be.”
Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager
“With Guillem winning a moto and getting on the podium in second, it’s been a really great weekend for the team. It was a shame that he had a small crash in the first race, but that’s how racing goes sometimes. In the second race he was great, riding with no pressure and just how he knows how to ride. Camden also had a good weekend, especially in race two as he charged from the back through to sixth. Now we head to Latvia with a lot of confidence and I’m excited to see how the riders can do there, as it’s a much different track to where we’ve been recently.”
