Racing Triumph Motorcycles 4th Aug 2025

Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team enjoyed a memorable weekend on home turf at round four of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, with Mikael Persson securing a pair of Enduro1 podium results and Jamie McCanney delivering two top-10 overall finishes. Cheered on by thousands of passionate fans, the team delivered a standout performance at the fan-favourite GP of Wales in Rhayader.

The weekend got underway on Friday night with the Super Test, held in front of thousands of fans at Cwmythig Hill. Mikael Persson set the tone early with a sixth-place overall result, while Jamie McCanney secured eighth in Enduro1 to start his home round on a positive note.

Persson delivered a standout performance across both days at the GP of Wales, securing back-to-back Enduro1 podiums and finishing fourth overall on each day. On Saturday, he was fast and composed from the outset, clocking top-three times in five of the nine special tests aboard his TF 250-E to claim second place in Enduro1 with a comfortable 36-second margin to third. Despite tougher conditions on Sunday following overnight rain, Persson maintained his form to take third in class and another fourth-place result overall. He now lies third in the Enduro1 standings, tied on points with second-placed Samuele Bernardini, and moves up to fifth in the overall EnduroGP standings with three rounds left to contest.

Jamie McCanney enjoyed his most competitive weekend of the season at his home round, delivering two fourth-place finishes in the Enduro1 class. Spurred on by the passionate local crowd, he matched his best class result of the year on Saturday while also securing ninth overall, showing improved speed and consistency across the tests. Building on that momentum, Jamie pushed even closer to the podium on Sunday, finishing just 15 seconds off third place in class, while climbing to a season-best eighth overall. The Manxman now holds fifth in the Enduro1 standings and moves up to 12th in the overall rankings.

Mikael Persson will next line up for Team Sweden at the International Six Days Enduro in Bergamo, Italy, from August 24-29, before both riders return to EnduroGP action at round five in Vila de Rei, Portugal, from September 12-14.

Mikael Persson

“It’s been a really great weekend here in Wales! I’m happy with fourth both days overall and second and third in class. It’s my best weekend of the year so far results-wise so I’m really pleased. It’s great to do it here at Triumph’s home round too!”

Jamie McCanney

“What a weekend in Rhayader for our home GP! I managed to get top-10 results both days overall and just missed out on the podium in Enduro1 today which is really bittersweet. We’ve made huge improvements since the last round, and I’m excited to carry the momentum into the second half of the season.”
