Tom Booth-Amos delivered two fierce rides aboard the PTR Triumph Factory Racing Street Triple 765 RS this weekend as he battled his way to a brace of hard-fought top ten finishes at Balaton Park in Hungary.

Heading into the fourth round of the FIM Supersport World Championship off the back of a promising weekend in the Netherlands, the PTR Triumph squad looked to hit the ground running, getting to work in the opening, and sole, practice session. Returning to the circuit for Superpole on Friday afternoon, both Booth-Amos and teammate Oli Bayliss endured a tough session, concluding the Qualifying in 13th [Bayliss] and 25th places respectively.

Starting Saturday’s opening race from 22nd after being promoted a few places due to grid penalties, Booth-Amos got his head down from the off, muscling his way into the points in the opening laps. Sitting in 13th, the British rider continued his surge through the pack, working his way to tenth before passing Aldi Mahendra for ninth.

With five laps to go, he continued his upward trajectory, gaining a position from the unfortunate Roberto Garcia, who crashed out ahead, and another from Simon Jesperson. Booth-Amos took the checkered flag in seventh place, capping a superb Saturday charge and securing a third row start for race two.

Starting Sunday’s race from seventh, Booth-Amos made a clean start and maintained his position on the opening lap. From there, he found his rhythm, settling into sixth after expertly avoiding a crash for Filippo Farioli just ahead of him. Unfazed, the #69 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS momentarily posted the fastest lap of the race, demonstrating its strong pace. A late battle with Jaume Masia and Jeremy Alcoba ultimately saw him cross the line in sixth, securing another strong haul of points across the two Hungarian races.

Meanwhile, it was a tough weekend for Oli Bayliss. The Australian made a promising getaway from his grid slot, but an unfortunate crash at turn five on lap two ended his race one hopes. Remounting and pitting to fit a new rear tyre, Bayliss set a strong lap time which secured him eighth on the grid for Sunday’s race. Venturing back on track for Sunday morning Warm Up, another crash left the 22-year-old sidelined for race two action after being declared unfit by the medical team despite walking away from the incident.

Booth-Amos and Bayliss will return to action in two weeks’ time as the PTR Triumph Factory Racing team heads to Most in the Czech Republic for the fifth round of the season. The Czech weekend will also mark the return of the FIM Sportbike World Championship for their third round of the 2026 season.

Tom Booth-Amos
“After how we started the weekend and qualifying in 25th, I’m happy with the results of P7 and P6. Balaton is my least favourite circuit, so I’m now focused on Most and the next few rounds.”

Oli Bayliss
“Not the best weekend here in Balaton Park. We had a small problem in morning warm up which resulted in a big crash. I hit my elbow and my lower back which has left me in a bit of pain, but hopefully we’ll be back fully fit for Most. We had the pace this weekend, so it’s time to reset and go again in two weeks.”
